All-on-4/6 Dental Implant

What is All-on-4/6 Dental Implant Technique?

All-on-4 and all-on-6 dental implant treatment is the process of using fixed prosthetic teeth to replace missing teeth and ultimately obtain healthy teeth.

The all-on-4 and all-on-6 dental implant procedures are performed under local anesthesia. During the procedure, dental implants are attached to the jawbone with a surgical technique to support an artificial tooth. By placing the implant at an angle to the area with the missing tooth on the back side, the need for bone grafts is reduced. This method, which prevents loss of time, is a fixed prosthesis treatment and does not require advanced surgical procedures. The obvious difference between all-on-4 and all-on-6 dental implants is the number of implants. Their durability and longevity are shown as the common point of both techniques.

What are the Stages of 4/6 Dental Implant Treatment?

A thorough physical examination is required before all-on-4 and all-on-6 treatment. After the detailed examinations are performed and the radiological imaging in the relevant area, the dentist determines whether the general health status of the individual is suitable for implant treatment. If the patient is suitable for all-on-4 and all-on-6 treatment, the dentist who is specialized in the field plans the treatment process and transfers the details of the procedure to the patient.

Before All-on-4/6 dental implant treatment, measurements are taken from the patient to analyze the oral and dental anatomy well. In line with the measurements taken, temporary prostheses suitable for the patient are meticulously prepared in the laboratory environment. In the early stages of treatment, four or six titanium implants are placed inside the jaw bones to obtain an artificial prosthetic tooth.

The all-on-4 technique, which does not require much bone density compared to other implant methods, is the process of replacing the upper or lower tooth set with four implants where the tooth deficiency is felt. In the All-on-6 method, six implants are placed in the lower or upper jawbone. After the time needed to complete the treatment is determined by the doctor, the previously prepared prosthetic teeth are fixed in place.

What to Consider After All-on-4/6 Treatment?

After an all-on-4/6 dental implant operation, complications such as some bruising or swelling may occur in the gums and sometimes in the face area. Although these temporary symptoms are normal, they can lead to mild pain. There are several issues to be considered to relieve pain and other symptoms and to overcome the healing process more comfortably.

After dental implant treatment, an ice compress should be performed on the cheek area (the area where the implants are located) for 4 to 6 minutes. This method should be carried out three times an hour at an interval of 15 minutes. An ice pack, which should be performed to alleviate the swelling and bruising that may occur, should not be neglected.

In the healing process, the consumption of soft foods should be preferred. Care should be taken to eat and drink habits for about a month after treatment. Excessively hot foods and drinks should not be consumed. It is extremely important to avoid the use of straws when consuming beverages. Opting for drinks where the amount of alcohol and caffeine is little or no is another detail to pay attention to. During the healing process, care should be taken not to smoke and not to get overtired and break the body's resistance.

To maintain oral cleanliness, it is recommended to gargle with salt water from the second day of treatment. Another important point to pay attention to is the regular use of medications prescribed by the doctor to prevent pain and accelerate healing. In this process, control appointments should not be interrupted and doctor's recommendations should be followed.

What are the Advantages of All-on-4 & All-on-6 Dental Implants?

An all-on-4/6 implant is a technique that allows patients who have lost some of their teeth over time to improve their oral and dental health. All-on-4/6 implant, which is often a preferred form of treatment, does not require a long and painful process. On the same day of treatment, the patient can easily return to his daily life.

All-on-4 vs all-on-6 has many advantages, bringing with it great results. Dental treatment, which offers solutions for oral and dental health problems such as tooth decay or bone loss, is also the key to an aesthetic smile. Implants placed in the place of missing teeth have a natural tooth appearance and do not cause aesthetic concerns at this point.

Dental implants with a high level of durability visibly increase the quality of life of the person from the moment they feel their effect. Dental implants, which increase a person's capacity to eat, do not cause any problems at the point of taste. Fixed prosthesis treatment, which allows obtaining results in a shorter time than traditional dental implants, is also very advantageous in terms of time.

One of the main advantages of All-on-4 and All-on-6 treatments is that they can be completed in less time than traditional dental implant treatments, which can take several months to complete. They also require fewer dental implants than traditional treatments, which can be more cost-effective for patients.

No nutrients and liquids should be consumed for at least 2 hours after the implant. Solid foods should be avoided for the first 24 hours after the operation. Soft foods can be consumed during the healing process, but hot foods should not be preferred.

The brand and quality of the implant is the most important factor in determining prices. However, the experience of the dentist, which clinic is preferred for a dental operation, and the number of implants applied are among the factors that affect implant prices.
